The faculty are those who have been granted status as faculty members by the Board of Trustees upon recommendation of the President. The faculty shall consist of teachers with the ranks of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, or Instructor, and any other designated by the President.

Job Title: Assistant Professor of Literacy and Online Graduate Education
Position Type: Full-Time
Department: Education

The Department of Education at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD, invites applicants for a full-time faculty position beginning August 2018.

Responsibilities: Potential courses would include elementary methods in reading, elementary methods in writing, and other courses related to the candidate’s area of specific expertise. Potential online graduate courses would include one or more of the following areas:  educational issues, curriculum, introduction to research and assessment, diversity and/or history of education; and technology in education.  Candidates may also oversee the completion of final projects of graduate students.  Responsibilities also include recruiting and advising students; conducting an active research/publication agenda; providing service to the University and profession; engaging in program assessment and evaluation related to program standards; and developing ongoing collaborations with schools, agencies and the community.

Qualifications: Earned Doctorate or ABD in a relevant area in Education; three years of successful K-12 teaching experience; capacity to engage in research and service; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues; and preferred teaching experience at the college/university level in both face to face and online courses.

Salary: Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Title: Assistant Professor of Special Education
Position Type: Full-Time
Department: Education

The Department of Education at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD, invites applicants for a full-time faculty position beginning August 2018.

Responsibilities: Primary teaching responsibilities would be in Augustana’s online graduate programming in Education. Undergraduate courses will be assigned based on the candidate’s background and expertise.  This faculty member will be expected to participate in online course development and revision.  Responsibilities also include recruiting and advising students; oversee the completion of final projects of graduate students; conducting an active research/publication agenda; providing service to the University and profession; engaging in program assessment and evaluation related to program standards; and developing ongoing collaborations with schools, agencies and the community.

Qualifications: Earned Doctorate or ABD in Special Education (with some preference given to those with education and/or experience in Early Childhood Special Education), or a related area; three years of successful teaching experience in special education; capacity to engage in research and service; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues; and preferred teaching experience at the college/university level in both face to face and online courses.

Job Title: Graduate Assistant Track and Field Coach
Position Type: Part-Time
Department: Athletics

Augustana University, an NCAA Division II private liberal arts institution that competes in the Northern Sun Conference, is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Track and Field Coach. The position will assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the program. Duties will include, but are not limited to, practice planning, recruiting, meet management, and other duties assigned by head coach. Experience with jumps, sprints, and multi-events preferred. A Bachelor’s Degree is required and previous experience as a track and field athlete or coach is preferred. Compensation will be a stipend and tuition waiver. This position will begin Fall 2018.

Job Title: Graduate Assistant for Women's Swimming and Diving
Position Type: Part-Time
Department: Athletics

Augustana University, an NCAA Division II private liberal arts institution that competes in the Northern Sun Conference, is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for women’s swimming and diving. The individual will assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the program. This person will be the lead coach for diving and perform other duties assigned by head coach. A Bachelor’s Degree is required and previous experience as a swimming athlete or coach is preferred. Compensation will be a stipend and tuition waiver. This position will begin Fall 2018.
