Highlights
Our well-regarded faculty of working artists has recently received the following honors:

• Robert Aldern and Carl Grupp were honored with the South Dakota Governor’s Awards in the Arts.
• Robert Aldern, Carl Grupp, Gerry Punt, and Steve Thomas have all received the Sioux Falls Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Visual Art. 
• Scott Parsons’ work is reviewed in Art in America, Sculpture and Architectural Record.

Special Features
Students actively participate in extracurricular clubs like The Art Club and the Photography Club.

Opportunities
In addition to studios for printmaking, sculpture, painting, ceramics, drawing, and graphic design, our newly constructed Center for Visual Arts houses:

• The Center for Western Studies Art Gallery, which preserves and interprets the history and cultures of the Northern Plains.
• The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery and Carl Grupp Permanent Collection, with space for showcasing an average of nine exhibits per year, which houses Augustana’s permanent art collection.
• The Hovland Center for Liturgical Arts, a repository of information regarding the liturgical art of our region.
