Hands-On Learning

How is property tax used? What should we do with the minimum wage? What is feminist economics? In the last five years, our students have initiated independent studies in search of the answers to each of these questions.

Economics Major Completes Internship on Capitol Hill

Augustana junior Drew Adelia Trahms is spending her summer on Capitol Hill as an intern for the Navajo Nation Washington Office (NNWO), an advocacy agency that works closely with Congress, the White House and Federal Agencies.

The papers they completed are on par with the literature reviews that they would complete in graduate school and the research papers that are required in law school or an MBA program. Many of these papers have been presented at the annual Augustana Symposium.
