Studying Off Campus

Student-teaching in Anchorage, Alaska

Opportunities abound in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area for classroom experience and student teaching placements.

Special education and education of the deaf and hard of hearing majors have worked at Children’s Care Hospital and School and Children’s Home Society, as well as schools in Minnesota and Iowa.

We also encourage students to take advantage of Augustana’s study abroad program. We’ve placed student teachers around the world, in New Guinea, Norway, Japan, Germany, Tanzania, as well as many more foreign countries.

Student teaching experiences also are available in a variety of United States venues, such as Alaska, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, or on Native American reservations.
