Business Experience: Prior to joining the faculty at Augustana University, Professor Marsh spent five years teaching at the University of Sioux Falls, where she found a passion for teaching. Before entering academics, she spent nine years working for two of the nation's five largest banks in a variety of lending and management roles. During this time she assisted small business and consumer banking customers with financial planning with credit, depository, and treasury needs, with a particular interest in customizing credit products to help people achieve their goals and dreams in a financially responsible way. She often uses this experience in applying the "real world" with the concepts students are learning in her classes.
Memorable classroom moment: My favorite moments are those in which I see students become engaged and passionate about a topic we are discussing, as then I know that I’ve made a difference!
Interests: I am fascinated by the workings of our financial markets and continuously monitor them. Additionally, I believe that it is our responsibility to serve others, so I enjoy serving in a number of volunteer roles at organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Feeding South Dakota, Sioux Falls Catholic Schools, and our church.
Advice for business students: A good attitude will open many doors.
