- Healthcare marketing students blog about working with Sanford Health mentors. On-the-job realities cemented what students were learning in class, and assisted them in making decisions about their career paths. Students found great benefit in discovering mentors, and mentors found great delight in guiding eager students in the evolving world of healthcare.
- Business majors Katie Connor '16 and Sam Williams '17 won scholarships at the annual Sales and Marketing Executives competition in April 2015. Both presented ideas for new businesses and "sold" these ideas to investors. Katie won the top award of $2,000 for her coffeeshop concept, and Sam received second place and $1,500 for his dessert restaurant.
- Augustana University is introducing a Master of Professional Accountancy (MPA) in the fall of 2015. This degree is designed forstudents who are interested in a career in public or private accounting. It is especially valuable to those who wish to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam. The CPA exam requires 150 college credits, plus specific accounting courses that this advanced degree program is designed to deliver.Preliminary schedules, class syllabi, admission criteria, and student assessments have undergone internal review and approval. The program is working with The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) in order to be able to grant the degree of Master of Professional Accountancy.
