AP, IB, CLEP, and PSEO Information
AP
Students who receive a score of 4 or 5 on the College Entrance Examination Board’s Advanced Placement Examinations (AP) may be awarded placement and credit. A complete list of course equivalencies is available for review.
IB
Academic credit is granted on a course-by-course basis for International Baccalaureate Higher Level examinations in which the student has received a score of 4 or higher.
CLEP
Credit will be awarded for the successful completion of most College Level Examination Program Subject Matter Examinations. Augustana uses the recommended score for awarding credit as contained in the CLEP Subject Examination Policy. Students who achieve the minimum passing score or higher will have the equivalent Augustana course noted on their transcript, with credit granted towards graduation and when appropriate, they will be excused from the corresponding general education equivalent.
PSEO
Credit is generally awarded for courses taken through the Post Secondary Enrollment Options program. Students must present an official transcript from the college or university from which the credit has been earned and must have achieved a grade of C- or higher. Augustana will accept a maximum of 32 hours of pre-matriculation credit. Additional hours may be petitioned to the college registrar.
