According to federal law, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry, i.e. the nature, date, time, location and/or disposition if any of the following conditions apply:

  • The disclosure is prohibited by law
  • If disclosure would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim
  • If disclosure would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an individual
  • If disclosure would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection
  • If disclosure would result in the destruction of evidence

  • 2:06 M - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Drunkenness / Alcohol Policy Violation.  Officers were dispatched to a dormitory to assist Residence Life in dealing with an intoxicated male. Subject was escorted from the building and to his place of residence. Incident report completed.
  • 4:56 PM - Stavig Hall, 1101 W. 28th Street.  Fire Alarm.  Officers responded to an automated fire alarm in a residence hall. Cause of the alarm was determined to be burnt popcorn. SFFR responded and authorized reoccupancy of the building. Incident report completed.

  • 3:30 PM - Granskou Hall, 1025 W. 28th Street.  Non-Injury Motor Vehicle Accident.  An officer was dispatched to investigate a report of a motor vehicle accident in a dormitory parking lot. A driver was parking a vehicle and struck a parked vehicle in the next space. SFPD responded and issued red tags. Incident report completed.
  • 4:11 PM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Theft.  Student presented at Campus Safety to file a late report of the theft of a coat and gloves from an athletic locker room. Coat was not secured at the time of the theft. Incident report completed and investigation continues.
  •   10:50 PM - Granskou Hall, 1025 W. 28th Street.  Possible Narcotics Violation.  Officers were dispatched to investigate an odor of marijuana in a residence hall. Specific source of the odor was identified and residents of the room were questioned. Incident report completed.

  • 5:55 PM - 33rd & Grange Avenue.  Motor Vehicle Accident.  Campus Safety Officer observed a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles.  Officer checked the occupants of the involved vehicles for injuries and assisted with traffic control until  Sioux Falls Police arrived on scene to take over the accident investigation.  Incident report completed.

  • 1:05 PM - Baseball Softball Complex, 2812 S. Lake Avenue.  Intentional Damage to Property.  Maintenance personnel discovered graffiti on an exterior wall of an athletic facility. Damage was documented and an incident report was completed.

  • 9:11 PM - Granskou Hall, 1025 W. 28th Street.  Medical Transport.  Student requested transport to hospital emergency room. Transport was completed without event. Incident Report completed.

  • 11:09 PM - Terning House, 1100 W. 28th Street.  Smoke Alarm.  Officers were dispatched to investigate a smoke alarm in a campus residence house. No sign of smoke of flame was observed. Smoke detector was likely activated by blowing snow through an open door. Incident report completed.
  • 11:46 PM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Interfering with Residence Life / Reckless Endangerment.  Residence Life requested assistance of officers after two subjects interfered with Residence Life personnel attempting to perform a welfare check on an intoxicated student. Subjects who removed the intoxicated student from the dormitory were identified. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.

  • 11:10 AM- Mikkelsen Library, 2117 S. Summit Avenue.  Non-Injury Motor Vehicle Accident.  An officer was dispatched to investigate a report of a motor vehicle accident near the library. The accident occurred as one vehicle exited the library parking lot and collided with a second vehicle travelling south on Summit Avenue causing only minor damage. SFPD responded and issued red tags. Incident report completed.
  • 10:37 PM - Stavig Hall, 1101 W. 28th Street.  Possible Narcotics Violation.  Officers were dispatched to a residence hall to investigate a report of a marijuana odor in a hallway. Source of the marijuana odor was located and contact was made with the room occupant. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.

  • 1:30 PM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Theft.  Faculty member filed a late report of a theft of $60.00 cash from an unsecured location. Theft occurred sometime on November 1, 2014. Incident report completed and investigation continues.

  • 2: 44 AM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Drunkenness / Underage Consumption.  Officers responded to a report of an unconscious, intoxicated subject in a residence hall. Subject was assessed and Residence Life to monitor the remainder of the night. Incident report completed. 
  • 6:41 PM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Medical Emergency.  Officer responded to a medical emergency in a residence hall. Rural Metro Ambulance responded as well. Patient was assessed and further medical attention declined. Incident report completed.

  • 12:42 AM - Heritage House, 2510 S. Grange Avenue.  Noise Disturbance, Party.  Officers responded to a report of a loud party at a campus residential house. After interviewing residents the party was terminated and guests were dispersed. Incident report completed.
  • 12:55 AM - Heritage House, 2510 S. Grange Avenue.  Drunkenness / Disorderly Conduct.  Officers in progess of dispersing a loud party made contact with an intoxicated subject. Officers confiscated a knife during interview, subject became disorderly and was restrained. SFPD responded and subject was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Minnehaha County Jail. Incident report completed.
  • 1:41 AM - Summit Apartments, 2420 S. Summit Avenue.  Vandalism.  Officers discovered a vehicle covered in flour and another unidentified substance. Owner was identified and notified. Report filed with SFPD. Incident report completed.
  • 3:30 AM - Stavig Hall, 1101 W. 28th Street.  Drunkenness / Vandalism / Public Urination.  Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated subject trying to gain access to a dormitory through a fire escape door and throwing a brick at a window. Subject was located nearby on College property urinating in public, detained and escorted back to his dormitory. Subject became disorderly at the dormitory but became compliant when SFPD responded. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorties for disciplinary action.

  • 11:10 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Drunkenness / Underage Consumption.  Officers escorted a non-Augustana subject from a dance and provided assistance after he became disorderly and ill as a result of alcohol consumption. SFPD issued Underage Consumption citation. Subject was transported to a hospital emergency room for treatment. Incident report completed.
  • 11:20 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Drunkenness / Underage Consumption.  Officer made contact with and provided assistance to an intoxicated student outside of a dance. SFPD issued Underage Consumption citation. Incident report completed.
  • 11:20 PM - Morrison Commons. 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Drunkenness / Underage Consumption.  Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated student inside of a dance and provided assistance. SFPD issued Underage Consumption citation. Incident report completed.
  • 11:30 PM - Augustana College Campus Green, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Drunkenness / Underage Consumption.  Officers observed two intoxicated subjects unable to care for themselves walking on campus and escorted them to their dormitory where assistance was provided. Incident report completed.

  • 6:45 PM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2322 S. Duluth Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Officers responded to an automated fire alarm in a campus apartment complex. Source of the alarm was determined to be cooking smoke. SFFR responded and authorized reoccupation of the apartment. Incident report completed.

  • 2:44 PM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Medical Emergency.  Officers were dispatched to investigate of report of student in medical distress. EMTs also responded and student was subsequently transported to a hospital emergency room via private vehicle. Incident report completed.
  • 2:10 AM  - Tower Dormitories, 1101 W. 28th Street,  Disorderly Conduct / Simple Assault.  Officer conducting a welfare check of an intoxicated male was physically interfered with by a second intoxicated male. Disorderly subject was apprehended by Campus Safety officers after a short foot pursuit. SFPD responded and subject was charged with Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Minnehaha County Jail. Incident report completed.

  • 4:20 PM - Diversity Experience House, 1000 W. 28th Street.  Fire Alarm.  Officers responded to an automated fire alarm from a campus residential house. Source of alarm determined to be cooking smoke. SFFR responded and authorized reoccupation of the house. Incident report completed.
  • 11:20 PM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Alcohol Policy Violation.  Officer observed student enter dormitory with a backpack containing alcohol. Residence Life was notified. Incident report completed.

  • 8:10 PM - Tuve Hall, 1109 W. 28th Street.  Welfare Check.  Officers were dispatched to locate and check on the welfare of a student. Student was located safe and well. Incident report completed.
  • 11:20 PM - Intersection of 26th St. and Grange Ave.  Non-Injury Motor Vehicle Accident.  Officers came across the scene of a motor vehicle accident and provided traffic control until SFPD arrived. SFPD took charge of the investigation.

  • 1:20 AM - 2131 S. Grange Avenue.  Maintaining a Public Nuisance / Disorderly Conduct.  SFPD responded to a noise complaint at a private house party and dispersed the guests. One subject was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Maintaining a Public Nuisance.
  • 1:44 AM - Granskou Hall, 1025 W. 28th Street.  Underage Consumption / Alcohol Policy Violation.  An officer encountered an intoxicated subject attempting to enter a dormitory. Subject was admitted after student identity was verified. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.

  • 5:00 PM - Mikkelsen Library, 2117 S. Summit Avenue.  Protection Order Violation.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of a subject that had a protection order in place against them and had violated the conditions of the protection order.  Officers responded to the victims / students location and interviewed the victim.  Sioux Falls Police were called and a PD Officer responded.  PD collected information from the victims Protection Order and left the scene to locate and arrest the subject / violator.  Incident report completed.
  • 6:27 PM - Bergsaker Parking Lot, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Hit & Run Motor Vehicle Accident.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report that a student had damage done to their vehicle.  Officer responded.  Sioux Falls Police also responded.  The student was unsure of the location that their vehicle was at when it received the damage.  PD Officer issued red tag and filed a report.  Campus Safety Officer reviewed video of possible areas the student"s vehicle was parked on Campus.  Incident report completed.

  • 8:03 PM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd St.  Medical Emergency.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of an injury to a student.  Officers responded and located the victim.  Rural Metro Ambulance Peramedics were called to the scene to evaluate the patient.  Medics checked the injury and it was determined that no transport was required.  Incident report completed.

  • 5:00 PM - College Drive Intersection of Walts Avenue.  Vandalism.   An Augustana College student called the Office of Campus Safety and reported that the student's vehicle had been egged while the vehicle had been parked on Campus property.  Officer responded and took pictures of the student's vehicle and damage.  Incident report completed.

  • 12:13 AM - 1919 S. Duluth Avenue.  Noise Disturbance, Party.  Officer was dispatched to investigate a citizen complaint of a loud party. Occupants of the house were contacted and warned. Incident report completed.
  • 12:46 AM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Vandalism.  Officer discovered evidence of a campus statue being defaced. Incident report completed.
  • 7:25 PM - 1920 S. Prairie Avenue.  Fight Disturbance.  Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a fight in progress. Officers found that one subject had already fled. Remaining injured subject refused medical treatment and declined to file a report. Incident report completed.
  • 10:35 PM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Underage Consumption / Alcohol Policy Violation.  Officers made contact with an intoxicated subject with assistance of Sioux Falls Police Department after subject was observed creating a disturbance. Underage Consumption citation issued and alcohol confiscated. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.
  • 11:44 PM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2342 S. Grange Avenue.  Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a loud party. Officers made contact, identified the subjects and dispersed the party. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.

  • 11:41 PM - Stavig Hall, 1101 W. 28th Street.  Possible Narcotics Violation.  Officers responded to a report of a marijuana odor in a residence hall. Officers identified the specific source and made contact with a resident of the room. Smoke detector was discovered to have been disabled. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.

The student reported that the back window of the student's vehicle had been shattered.  Officer responded. Pictures were taken and information gathered.  Incident report completed.
  • 11:32 PM - Granskou Hall, 1025 W. 28th Street.  Possible Narcotics Violation.  Officers were dispatched to investigate a reported odor of marijuana in a residence hall.  Officers were unable to locate the specific source. Incident report completed.

Cause was determined to be cooking smoke. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue arrived and authorized the apartment to be reoccupied. Incident report completed.

  • 1:25 AM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2300 Block of S. Duluth Avenue.  Alcohol Policy Violation.  Officer on patrol noticed a party in progress with drinking games at a campus apartment complex. Multiple underage subjects were identified and the party was dispersed. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities.

  • 3:00 PM - Intersection of 33rd St. and Grange Ave.  Motor Vehicle Accident with Injuries.  Officer responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident along with SFPD. Red Tags were issued and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue EMTs provided required medical attention. Incident report completed.

  • 11:23 PM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2300 Block of S. Duluth Avenue.  Medical Emergency.  Officers were notified of a medical emergency in a campus apartment complex by Metro Communications. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue, Rural Metro Ambulance and SFPD also responded. Illness was determined to be alcohol related and victim was transported to a hospital emergency room. Incident report completed.

  • 10:28 AM - Schoeneman Apartments.  1411 W. 33rd Street.  Property Damage.  A student / resident presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported that there had been damage done to the student's vehicle.  The rear window had been broken.  Incident report completed.
  • 3:52 PM - Stavig Hall, 1101 W. 28th Street.  Medical Emergency.  Officer responded to a report of a an ill student. Rural Metro Ambulance responded and assessed the victim. Victim refused further medical treatment. Incident report completed.

  • 1:10 PM - Schoeneman Apartments, 1411 W. 33rd Street.  Property Damage.  A student / resident called the Office of Campus Safety and reported that there had been damage done to the student's vehicle. Officer responded.  Damage was done to the windshield of the vehicle.  Suspect is a foul baseball.  Incident report completed.

  • 4:00 PM - Stavig Hall, 1101 W. 28th Street.  Medical Emergency.  Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive subject in a residence hall. Victim regained consciousness and was subsequently transported to a hospital emergency room by ambulance for further assessment. Incident report completed.

  • 1:39 AM - Heuther Tennis Courts, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Underage Consumption / Fleeing from Police.  Patroling SFPD unit observed two intoxicated individuals engaged in suspicious activity on tennis courts and made contact. One subject fled and was apprehended by DCS officers. One Underage Consumption citation issued. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.
  • 2:19 AM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Medical Response.  Officers responded to a request from Residence Life to assess an intoxicated subject. Subject determined to have accidentally overdosed on prescription drug. Subject was determined to be in no medical danger and a plan to monitor victim for the remainder of the night was established. Incident report completed.
  • 3:00 PM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Stolen Bicycle.  Student presented at Campus Safety to report a stolen bicycle from Elmen Center parking during the previous 48 hours. Bicycle was reported to have been locked at the time of the theft. Incident report completed and investigation continues.

  • 1:39 AM - Stavig Hall, 1101 W. 28th Street,  Possible Narcotics Violation / Alcohol Policy Violation.  Officers were dispatched to a dormitory to assist Residence Life with a report of narcotics and alcohol violations. Incident report completed and investigation pends.
  • 9:45 AM - 2800 S. Spring Avenue.  Suspicious Activity.  Student was contacted by SFPD after reports that a suspicious man was going through cars in a parking lot. Subject was identified and determined to be searching for his lost property. Subject was warned by SFPD and released. Incident report comleted and forwarded to College authorities for action.
  • 9:20 AM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Slip and Fall.  Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a guest falling and being injured. Ambulance responded and assessed victim, further medical attention was refused. Incident report completed.
  • 11:10 PM - Intersection of 33rd Street and Grange Avenue.  Campus Safety officers on patrol observed two intoxicated subjects attempting to steal a city street barricade. Subjects dropped the barricade and fled upon discovery. Students were relocated and identified. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.

  • 6:29 PM - Off Campus.  Harassment.  Faculty member presented to Campus Safety to report an incident of harassment of a student at an off campus location. Incident report completed and investigation pends.
  • 11:21 PM - 2021 S. Spring Avenue.  Noise Disturbance, Party.  Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a loud party at an off campus private residence. SPFD was already on scene breaking up the party. Several alcohol violation citations were issed by SFPD and students warned with arrest if any further violations. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.

  • 9:30 PM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Medical Emergency.  Officers were advised by phone report that a student had been injured while playing an athletic activity.  Officers responded and transported the injured student to a medical facility for further evaluation.

  • 10:45 PM - Alley Parking Lot, 2300 Block of South Summit Avenue.  Suspicious Vehicle and Persons.  Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle and persons loitering in an alleyway behind campus residential housing units. Officers located the vehicle and made contact with three unidentified subjects. Non-college affiliated subjects indicated they were waiting for family who lived in the vicinity. Subjects were requested to relocate their vehicle and complied. Incident report completed.

  • 3:15 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Vandalism..  Staff member presented to Campus Safety officer to file a late report of vandalism to his vehicle after discovering several scratches on the passenger door. Victim esitmates the damage was committed betwen 5:00 PM on 09 19 2014 and 1:30 AM on 09 20 2014 while parked on Commons Drive. Incident report completed.
  • 4:50 PM - Campus Green, 2301 S. Summit Avenue.  Illegall Driving on Sidewalk.  Officer observed a motorcycle being operated recklessly on a pedestrian sidewalk on campus. Officer was able to identify the subject before the subject fled the scene on the motorcycle. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.

  • 10:00 AM - Service Center Annex, 2108 S. Grange Avenue.  Intentional Damage to Property.  College employee filed a report of a broken vehicle windshield on a College vehicle. Window appears to have been broken by small unidentified projectile. Incident report completed.
  • 8:00 PM - Kirkeby-Over Stadium Lot, 2700 S. Lake Avenue.  Medical Assistance / Disorderly Conduct / Illegal Entry / Damage to Vehicle. An officer was waived down by a motorist seeking assistance for a third person who had locked themselves in a vehicle they had entered illegally while under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics. Officer gained access to the vehicle and after a brief medical assessment summoned an ambulance and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue. Emergency medical personnel responded and subject was turned over to SFPD after becoming disorderly. Subject was arrested and transported to the Minnehaha County Jail. Incident reort completed.
  • 10:52 PM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Vandalism.  Officer conducting foot patrol discovered a broken window in a dormitory fire escape stairwell.  Evidence collected and an incident report was completed.
  • 11:07 PM - Granskou Hall, 1025 W. 28th Street.  Welfare Check.  Officers were dispatched to conduct a student welfare check in a dormitory. Subject was located safe and well. Incident report completed.

  • 10:00 AM - Service Center Annex, 2108 S. Grange Avenue.  Intentional Damage to Property.  College employee filed a report of a broken vehicle windshield on a College vehicle. Window appears to have been broken by small unidentified projectile. Incident report completed.
