Augustana University grounds staff work diligently to maintain the parking lots on campus. To accommodate students who do not have parking permits and must park on the surrounding city streets, the University makes available the Kirkeby-Over Stadium parking lot, located off of Lake Avenue, during city issued snow alerts. Students are encouraged to use this lot during city issued snow alerts to avoid being ticketed and towed by the City.
The University does ask that once the streets have been plowed students move their vehicle out of this parking lot so grounds crews can clear snow from the parking lot.
Other parking lots on campus will be plowed as needed and when possible. If it becomes necessary for an entire parking lot to be plowed, the Department of Campus Safety will post fliers around campus identifying the times and date in which a specific parking lot will be cleared. When the time and date have been posted all vehicles must be out of that specific parking lot to accommodate the plowing of snow. Vehicles not moved out will be ticketed and towed at the owners expense.
Please watch for fliers regarding parking information. The Department of Campus Safety will also send out e-mails and text messages via the Emergency Notification System (ENS) when applicable.
