Christmas Giving

Each year Augie students, faculty, staff and administration collect gifts that are wrapped and taken to local volunteer agencies. This is an Augustana tradition that helps provide Christmas to many families and children throughout the Sioux Falls Area, This year the campus community can look forward Christmas giving trees being up around campus from the middle of November until the week before finals in December. Augustana students will wrap each of the collected gifts during Semester Shutdown, an event celebrating the end of the fall semester, beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, in the Morrison Commons.

How does it work?

It is a simple process, really! Leading up to Christmas, trees are located all over Augie’s campus. On each tree are ornaments with ideas for gifts for adults and children of all ages. Each of these trees serve as a place to receive gift ideas and drop off purchased gifts. At the end of the semester the Augie community comes together to wrap these gifts that are delivered to our volunteer agencies.
