Location: Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village (Mitchell, SD) Located on beautiful Lake Mitchell – 3 min. north of Corn Palace (follow the yellow banners)

Don't miss your chance to attend Archeology Days are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, July 10 and 11, at the Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village in Mitchell, SD.

Hands-on events at the site include: Kids Dig, Hands on Pottery Making, and Native Technology Demonstrations including Flintnapping, Pottery Construction, Atlatl Spear Throwing, Use of Native Plants, Artifact Displays.

Tours of the Thomsen Center Archeodome and Boehnen Museum will also be available.

The Thomsen Center Archeodome includes excavations of the 1,000 year old site are underway by an international team of archeologists and students from Augustana College and Exeter University in Exeter, England. In the Boehnen Museum, see a full-size replica earthlodge & bison skeleton.
 

Archeology Days is made possible with funding from the Archaeological Society of SD, the Archeology Lab of Augustana College, and the Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village.
