Event Details

Date: July 7 - July 9, 2011

Location: Elmen Center

Augustana College announced today that it will host the Mid-America Youth Basketball (MAYB) Tournament scheduled for July 8-10 in the Elmen Center.

Seventy-three teams made up of boys and girls from 3rd grade to 12th grade will participate. View the schedule and brackets.

A highlight of the event will be the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ (FCA) Nite of Champions on Saturday evening, featuring a Bar-B-Que pork banquet that's free for players and coaches. Parents and familes are invited to make a free will offering. Sponsored by the FCA and the South Dakota Pork Producers, Saturday’s banquet will be served between 4:45 and 5:30 p.m. The featured speaker will be South Dakota State Senator and former South Dakota Mr. Basketball, Todd Schlekeway, who will share a witness of his Christian faith.

“We bring in a Christian speaker to share the love of Jesus Christ to those participating this weekend. We believe that there is a platform to share your faith at an event as simple and out of the ordinary as a basketball tournament,” said Carmen Hecht, a member of the organizing committee.
