The 2012 Augustana Symposium, an annual academic conference where Augustana students are invited to present their original research, will be held on Saturday, April 21, in the Gilbert Science and Madsen Centers. This year's keynote address, "Academic Malpractice? The Ongoing Popularity of Creationism Among High School Biology Teachers," by Dr. Randy Moore, professor of Biology at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, will kick off the event at 10 a.m. in the Gilbert Science Center Auditorium (Room #100).

The Symposium has a history of highlighting the importance of research at Augustana and is an integral part of the concurrent Academic Festival.

  • 11:30 a.m.: Luncheon for student presenters, faculty collaborators and guests.
     
  • 1-4 p.m.: Student presentations and poster sessions, Madsen Center, second floor.
