The 56th annual Augustana College Band Festival Concert will be held in the Mary V. Sommervold Hall of the Washington Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16.
The concert will feature the Gold and Blue Bands, each comprised of approximately 100-110 select high school musicians from the five-state region. The event is a part of the annual Augustana Band Festival, set for Friday, Nov. 15, in the Humanities Center.
In addition to the leadership of Dr. Paul Schilf, director of The Augustana Band, the guest festival directors are well-known, local educators who have amassed more than 70 years of experience working with high-school band programs.
Bob Goheen was Director of Bands at Brandon Valley (S.D.) High School and will be directing the Gold Band during the festival.
Bob Carlson, recently retired from his position as Director of Bands at Lincoln High in Sioux Falls, will be directing the Blue Band during the festival.
The concert is open to the public. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors and students and can be purchased through the Washington Pavilion Box Office at www.washingtonpavilion.org.
