Dr. Susan Hasseler, senior vice president for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, Dr. Joel Johnson, associate professor of government and international affairs and Chair of Moral Values, Dr. John Pennington, professor of music, and Prosper Zongo, a senior English and secondary education major, will discuss the impact of Nelson Mandela's work in transforming South Africa and the world in a forum titled "Without Democracy There Cannot Be Peace: Nelson Mandela, South Africa and the World" at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, in room 201 of the Madsen Center.
The event is free and open to the public.
Mandela, South Africa’s first black president who became the global face of the struggle against racial oppression, died on Thursday at age 95.
