The Augustana Performing & Visual Arts will present The Augustana Band, under the direction of Dr. Paul Schilf, and the Augustana College/Community Band, under the direction of Dr. Earl Sherburne, in their annual Fall Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Washington Pavilion in downtown Sioux Falls.
Tickets range in price from $15-$20 and are free for students K-12 and those with a valid Augie ID. Season ticket subscriptions are available until Sunday, Nov. 2. Tickets are available at the Washington Pavilion beginning Saturday, Aug. 30. All seats are reserved.
The concert includes a special performance of “A Pink Ribbon for Susan,” featuring clarinetist Christopher Hill — a tribute to all those affected by breast cancer.
The Band is an 80-piece ensemble composed of student musicians representing a variety of majors. The group will be performing throughout China during their three-week tour in January 2015.
Also appearing will be the Augustana College/Community Band, a group of more than 100 student-musicians and community members. This group proves that, regardless of profession (and we have physicians, teachers, lawyers, airline pilots and more), you can share your love of music and continue in its study, despite busy professional lives.
