About Dr. Ron McCurdy
The Artist Entrepreneurship presentation by Dr. Ronald C. McCurdy is designed to share more than 40 years of experience navigating the artistic landscape with students, faculty, and staff. The presentation will help students acquire skills to better understand and engage in the creative process. The discussion will include strategies for conceiving and mounting Big Idea Projects. Additionally, this presentation will address strategies for sustaining a career in the arts. Those skills will include knowledge of addressing the protection of intellectual property, booking tours, managing social media, and understanding contracts. At the conclusion of this presentation, there will be opportunities for Q & A.
Dr. Ronald C. McCurdy is professor of music at the University of Southern California. He is also the co-author of The Artist Entrepreneur: Finding Success in a New Age Economy. Dr. McCurdy has served as a consultant to the Walt Disney College Program and the Grammy Foundation Educational Programs. Dr. McCurdy is a Yamaha performing artist.
