The author of several nonfiction books, including Daddy Long Legs, Man Killed by Pheasant and Other Kinships, and Not Just Any Land, John Price received a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as the Orion Readers’ Choice Award for Best Book of Nonfiction. He has gathered stories about the diversity of this area and its natural resources in The Tallgrass Prairie Reader. He is a professor of English at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he directs the nonfiction writing program.
His nonfiction writing about nature, family, and spirit has appeared in many journals, magazines, newspapers, and anthologies including Orion, The Christian Science Monitor, Creative Nonfiction, The Iowa Review, and Best Spiritual Writing 2000. John Price lives with his wife, Stephanie, and three sons in the Loess Hills of western Iowa.

As a support group for the Mikkelsen Library, the Augustana Library Associates strengthen the financial base of the library to promote the expansion of library holdings and services and to enhance opportunities for academic excellence. Additionally, the Library Associates provide a program of cultural events and continuing education for the benefit of members, the College and the community.
