Building the Sciences
The 125,000-square-foot Dr. Sven G. Froiland Science Complex is the largest and most sophisticated building endeavor in Augustana's 153-year history, designed to
support the growing number of natural science majors and the College's student-faculty research program.
The initiative plans for a 41,000-square-foot addition to the existing Gilbert Science Center, along with a complete renovation of the current facility. The building will named in honor of Dr. Sven Froiland, a longtime biology professor and a champion of scientific research at the College.
