Online, Mail or Phone

Online: You can make a gift or pledge payment by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) using this online form. Making a gift online to Augustana is absolutely secure and private. Under our privacy policy, we do not sell personal information or use it for purposes other than the support of Augustana.

By mail: You can send checks to the Augustana College Office of Advancement, 2001 South Summit Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57197. Make checks payable to Augustana College.

By phone: Call 605.274.5521 or 800.727.2844 to provide your credit card information over the phone. When you call, you'll hear a real-live human on the other end. We promise.

Scheduled Payments and Perpetual Giving

If you would like to increase the impact of your gift but aren’t able to make a larger one-time gift, consider making your gift in smaller installments. A monthly or quarterly gift to Augustana is convenient and easy to set up, and many donors find that when their gift is divided over several months they are able to give more than they might have originally thought possible. You can make your gift recurring until you cancel it. It's your choice.

A perpetual gift is:

  • Cost-effective. It allows Augustana to eliminate administrative expenses, therefore allocating more of your donation to Augustana programs.
  • Convenient. Your contribution is deducted automatically from the account of your choice, which means fewer reminders from us.
  • Sustainable. Spreading your support over time is easier on your budget. Plus it gives Augustana the security of a steady, reliable stream of support.

Honor/Memorial Gifts

Honorary and memorial gifts recognize others through gifts you make to Augustana College. Gifts made in memory or in honor of a family member, faculty, student or friend are generous and thoughtful ways to remember a person's life and his or her accomplishments.

When a memorial gift is made to the Augustana Fund, we notify the honoree or his or her next of kin. We administer the honorary or memorial gift as the donor specifies.

Any form of gift, such as one made through the transfer of stocks or through an outright cash donation, may be given in honor or memory of someone.

To provide a gift in honor or memory of someone, please send your gift with a note specifying the honoree's name and address and/or contact information for his or her next of kin. Any online gift can be made in honor or in memory of someone by simply indicating that intention on the donation form.

For more information about providing a gift in honor or memory of someone, please contact us.

Planned Gifts

Remembering Augustana in your estate plan provides tax benefits and the satisfaction of helping ensure Augustana’s future excellence. Individuals who make planned gift arrangements become members of the Augustana Heritage Club.

Planned gifts include bequests through wills or living trusts, charitable remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, gifts of life insurance, property deeded with life estate retained, and charitable lead trusts.

Several planned giving options offer the benefit of a lifetime income in exchange for the gift asset, in addition to a sizable income tax deduction.

Combination Cash and Planned Gift: To provide current support and maximize giving potential, consider combining a cash or current asset gift with a planned gift.

Endowed Funds

Endowed gifts provide a foundation for the financial stability of Augustana College. The interest earned through endowment funds supports a variety of needs ranging from scholarships to faculty chairs. Each endowment gift is invested to generate growth and income, and Augustana spends only 5 percent of the annual investment return in supporting the College’s mission and operations. To guard against diminishing funds caused by inflation, the remaining investment return is added back to the fund. The goal is to ensure that the fund maintains its value over time, and the programs supported by the endowment receive the same — or even greater — funding in the future as they receive today. Alumni Participation

Most alumni say that whether in the classroom, on the field, or in a full assembly, Augie was a pivotal experience that provided the foundation for their success in college and beyond. Just as annual gifts supported your education while you were at Augustana, your gift will ensure that the Augustana experience will carry on.

Augustana Employee Payroll Deduction

Augustana is a caring community that gives rise to excellence and exceptional value. It is a place that fosters, inspires and celebrates a culture of pride and stewardship through the giving of ourselves to others. We seek to build momentum as we maximize the notion of “value” and increase the percentage of all financial gifts received annually to the College from our current faculty and staff. We also seek to annually promote awareness and instill a greater appreciation for a philanthropic spirit throughout Augustana’s student body.

A strong commitment to participating in one of the College's giving programs affords us the ability to tell other donors our story, demonstrates pride in our workplace, and shows confidence in what we do. It will help support our success in winning future funds through grants and foundations and foster a community seeking to invest in itself, each other and our mission. As with any self-directed challenge, we believe the Augustana community seeks to embrace a challenge and set new standards.

If you are an Augustana employee, please consider a one-time participation gift or an ongoing pledge to the College today. You can even make a payroll deduction. Complete this form and return it to Kristi Worden in the Development Office, on the third floor of Administration. Or you may give her a call at 605.274.4117 or email kristi.worden@augie.edu.
