Group Fitness Descriptions

 

               

Yoga 

Begins by centering the mind and involves both body and spirit. A series of physical postures increases strength, flexibility, and balance. The spine is moved in six unique ways. All movements are synchronized with the breath. Sessions end with a relaxing cool down. 

 

      

Cardio Kickboxing

A high-intensity class that is a great full body workout, complete with arms, core, and leg circuits. Incorporating a wide variety of punches and athletic drills, kickboxing is an effective way to punch out the stress of college. 

     

Circuit Weights

Rapidly move from one exercise to the next in this circuit-style class. Circuit weights combines aerobic and weight training to work different muscle groups.

    

Barre

A sculpting and body-shaping workout that is inspired and influenced by classical and modern dance, but is not a dance class. Barre utilizes positions from dance and focuses on small, isolated movements to target deep muscles and help with posture.

   

Hardcore Abs/Wellness Wednesday

The ultimate class for strong backs and sculpted abdominal muscles.  This class will make you feel strong from the inside out by using your deep core muscles effectively and efficiently.

 

    

Hydrofit

Is a safe, low-impact workout in the pool, excellent for conditioning and toning all muscles.  The low-impact environment makes it ideal for participants of all fitness levels and those with joint problems.

Yoga Sculpt

Yoga sculpt has a strong focus on strength and intensity. Sculpt combines cardio and weights making it unlike your typical classes and more like a workout class. However, what sets yoga sculpt apart from other intense workouts is that yoga sculpt, like all yoga classes, has a mental and emotional focus. 

         

Zumba/Zumba Toning

Hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves create a one-of-a-kind fitness program.  The routines feature fast and slow beats and resistance training to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.  Join the Zumba party!

FAAB

 

FAAB

FAAB is a full body workout. It stands for flexibility, arms, abs, and booty! There is also some cardio and stretching incorporated. This is a fun and judgement free zone where you will work up a good sweat!

This high-intensity class combines aerobics and resistance-weight training.  Circuit training works different sections of the body individually and rapidly moves from one exercise to the next in a circuit.

PiYo

PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. And, we crank up the speed to deliver a true fat-burning, low-impact workout that leaves your body looking long, lean, and incredibly defined.

               

Studio Dance

Come to the Back Alley for a variety of studio dance classes! Various styles will be available weekly including: ballet, jazz, contemporary, and technique. All levels are welcome and encouraged!
