What kind of computer should I bring to Augie?

At Augie we have a variety of systems in our labs. Windows PC's, Macintosh computers. Which a student uses is a personal preference. We also support both desktop and laptop computers. Computers must have an ethernet card installed. Many new systems come with this card built in.

Below are the MINIMUM recommendations.

PC – Minimum computer specifications
• Windows 98/2000 or XP computer
• at least a Pentium II processor
• 128MB RAM
• 10-Base-T (RJ 45 jack) Ethernet card*
• 1Gig of available hard drive space

Macintosh - Minimum computer specifications
• running Mac OS 8.6 or higher
• G3 processor
• 128MB physical RAM
• 10-Base-T Ethernet card* (RJ 45 jack) or connector

* This card MUST be installed before you can connect to the campus network. Cards should be be purchased and installed before you arrive on campus. We can not connect you to the network until this is done Your computer store can help you with this.
