Equipment Check
Out:
- What happens if equipment is lost or stolen while it is checked out
to me? You are liable for replacement cost of the equipment. If
the equipment is lost due to things beyond your control (a tornado etc)
you will not be expected to replace the equipment.
- Isn’t the loss covered by Augustana’s insurance? Replacement
cost of check out equipment is usually lower than the deductible amount
of our policy.
- Why is the checkout period only one week? It is sometimes possible to extend the loan period
by a couple of days in special circumstances. We have a limited amount
of equipment and demand for the equipment often exceeds the supply.
- What happens if I'm late getting the equipment back? Often, this means that someone else who reserved
the equipment will be not get it. If you can't get the item back by
the due date you must, call the Help Desk at 274-5331 to let us know.
We will then try to rearrange the check out schedule to accommodate
the reservations we have. If
you are more than a week late, you may be charged a $50/week fee.
- Can students check out equipment?. We allow students to check out equipment, but to so so they must
have a check out sheet signed by a faculty member. It is assumed that when equipment is checked
out by a student for work related to a class. Your department assumes responsibility
for the equipment along with the student.
- Can I put a laptop through
the XRAY machine at the airport?
Yes, The XRAY machine will not harm the laptop. NEVER check a laptop through as luggage, always carry it on
the plane with you.
How do I reserve a computer
lab? Labs are reserved by the campus scheduling office located
in the Morrison Commons. Their phone number is 274-4546.
