Seven Students Awarded Christopherson Scholarships
SIOUX FALLS – Seven Augustana students have been awarded Fred C. and J. Marie Christopherson Scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year.
The Augustana Faculty Scholarship and Awards Committee made the selections on the basis of scholarship, campus/community service, and how well the nominees fit the description of the donors as someone “equipped for life.”
Fred C. Christopherson, who died in 1989, was the editor of the Sioux Falls Argus Leader for 31 years. J. Marie Christopherson, who died in 1989, wrote the Driftwood column published in the Argus Leader for 20 years.
The 2009-2010 Christopherson Scholarship recipients are:
Ashley Brewers, junior, Elementary Education major. She is the daughter of Denise and Stan Brewers of Marshall, MN.
Paige Fossum, junior, Government & International Affairs major. She is the daughter of Lori and Gary Fossum of Lennox, SD.
Sarah Fritz, junior, Exercise Science major. She is the daughter of Susan and Michael Fritz of Currie, MN.
Rachel Gerber, sophomore, Business Communication major. She is the daughter of Jennifer and Brent Gerber of Moorhead, MN.
Terra Goplen, junior, Music Education major. She is the daughter of Kari and Gary Goplen of Canby, MN.
Kimberly Hibma, sophomore, Elementary Education and Special Education major. She is the daughter of Virginia and James Hibma of Worthington, MN.
Amy Hulstein, junior, History and Government/International Affairs major. She is the daughter of Linda and Robert Hulstein of Hull, IA.
