Three Students Win Accounting Scholarships

SIOUX FALLS – Three Augustana students have received scholarships for 2009-10 from The Image Enhancement Committee of the South Dakota CPA Society.
Seven applicants were evaluated on grade point average, career goals, awards, activities, experience, and overall appearance of the application.
Augustana students winning awards are Kari Hipsak, a junior from Bismarck, ND; Jonathan Emerson, a junior from Columbus, NE; and Jonna Brost, a senior from Sartell, MN.
Hipsak is majoring in professional accountancy/business administration. Her goals include working in public accounting and starting a not-for-profit organization. She was awarded a $1,250 scholarship. She is the daughter of Karen and David Hipsak.
Emerson is an accounting major. His future plans include securing a job in public accounting. He was awarded a $1,000 scholarship. He is the son of LeAnne and Stan Emerson.
Brost is majoring in professional accountancy/economics. She hopes to work for a public accounting firm. She was awarded a $750 scholarship. She is the daughter of DeeAnn and Will Brost.
