SIOUIX FALLS, SD – The Registrar’s Office released enrollment figures today that exceed projected budget numbers for the 2010 spring semester.
In addition, 409 of 431 first-time freshmen returned for the spring semester. At 94.9 percent, this is the second highest fall-to-spring semester retention rate in the last decade.
Augustana began the 2010 spring semester on February 4 with a head count of 1,700 students. It marked the fifth straight year for spring semester enrollment growth.
“These numbers are gratifying not only because they exceed our goals, but confirm the mission of the College to create success for our students,” said President Rob Oliver.
The number of full-time undergraduates taking classes this spring is 1,560, the highest number since 2004. The College budgeted for 1,516.
There are 122 part-time undergraduates, and 18 graduates enrolled.
