Women's Golf Wins NCAA Super Region 3 Championships

After leading for the majority of the tournament, the Augustana women's golf team has won the NCAA Super Region 3 Championship in Lake City, Minn. Three Vikings finished in the top 10 individually.
The Vikings beat out second-place team Western New Mexico by seven strokes, tallying a three-day total of 972. Western New Mexico shot 979 while conference foe Minnesota State rounded out the top three with a 984.
Individually, Kelly Lauer led the squad, shooting 79 on the final day to finish tied for third with a 237. Emily Kvidera led for the first two days of the tournament, but shot an 87 on Tuesday to drop her to a tie for sixth. She carded a 239 for the tournament. Kate Tobin tied for ninth after shooting a 242 for the tournament.
Jennifer Benoy finished the tournament with a 255, earning her 31st place while Kelli Lowry was tied for 37th after carding a 269.
The Vikings, plus the other teams in the top three, have now qualified for the NCAA Div. II National Golf Tournament in Mesa, Ariz., on May 12-15.
