Concert to Include Food Drive; Chance to Meet Band

The Goo Goo Dolls and Augustana College are sponsoring a food drive from 5-6:30 p.m. prior to the concert at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, at the Elmen Center. All food items will be donated to Feeding South Dakota, the statewide organization that supports food pantries in Sioux Falls and Rapid City.

The individual who donates the most food will win a meet-and-greet with Goo Goo Dolls band members before the concert.

Tickets for the Goo Goo Dolls, featuring The Spill Canvas, can be purchased at and are $16 for Augustana students and $32.50 for non-students. All tickets are general admission.

In 2009, Feeding South Dakota distributed more than 9 million pounds of food in the fight against hunger. Every day, Feeding South Dakota provides food resources for nearly 4,000 people throughout the state. The program helps feed more than 38,000 families each month and its BackPack Program gives food every weekend to 4,389 kids who otherwise might go hungry.

The day after Augustana's concert, the Goo Goo Dolls will give their first-ever televised acoustic performance on the live telecast of ABC's Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday, Oct 12.
