Orchestra to Present Musically Creepy 'Hauntcert' Oct. 31

The Augustana College & Community Orchestra will present “A Hauntcert” at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

The program will feature creepy orchestral works, including classical crowd pleasers like Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, Grieg’s Hall of the Mountain King, and Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre. The audience will also be treated to music from popular movies, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Phantom of the Opera, and Twilight. The orchestra, conducted by Dr. Christopher Stanichar, will present the concert in costume and the audience is invited to do the same. There will also be special guests, including Mr. Twister, Ole the Viking, Marilyn Schempp (organist), and many others!

This will be a mildly spooky event, geared towards entertaining families. Children are invited to attend in costume.

Tickets are $5 for adults and are free for students K-12. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 605.274.5320 or online at www.augietickets.com.
