Faculty, Alumni Integral to 2011 Sioux Falls Business Conference

Five Augustana alumni and one faculty member will be among the panelists at tomorrow’s third annual Sioux Falls Business Conference.

In addition, each of the Conference’s six sections will be moderated by members of the College’s Business Administration department, including Jason Harris, Shelly Gardner, Dr. Marcia Entwistle, Kevin Buell, Dr. Ryan Sougstad and Dr. Bob Wright, Nef Family Chair of Political Economy.

Themed “Innovation in a Changing Marketplace,” the free conference on Wednesday, June 1, will bring together local and regional business experts to discuss the changing Sioux Falls marketplace and recommend how business owners can best plan for success in the future. The Conference runs from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Augustana’s campus.

Augustana alumni and faculty panelists include:

  • Jaciel Keltgen, is an award-winning assistant professor specializing in marketing. Her current research, which follows her specialty in healthcare marketing and management, focuses on generational differences in the medical workplace.
  • David Cota, class of 1974, has 30 years of executive management experience with large national and multi-national companies.
  • Wanda Harris, class of 1988, serves as Human Resources Director for the Financial Service Company of First National of Nebraska, Inc. She has 20 years of human resources management experience serving in senior roles within the financial services industry.
  • Barbara Ohme, class of 1971, serves as vice president of administration for Raven Industries. Ohme has been with Raven Industries for 23 years.
  • Matt Jensen, class of 2000, serves as executive director for Vance Thompson Vision and is one of only a handful of Experience Economy Experts in the world today.
  • Vance Goldammer, class of 1972, is a founding partner of the legal firm, Murphy, Goldammer & Prendergast. He has been listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America and is listed in the top tier of business attorneys by America's Leading Business Lawyers.

Jeff Broin, CEO and president of POET, and Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether will serve as keynote speakers.
