Students Invited to Q&A Forum During HLC Visit
Augustana students are invited to attend a Q&A forum hosted by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the Augustana Student Association at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, in the 3-in-1 room.

The student forum is part of Augustana's reaccreditation review. In addition to meeting with students, HLC representatives will also meet with administrators and support staff members at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18.
Augustana has been continuously accredited by the Commission since 1931. The College undergoes a comprehensive visit every 10 years; its last accreditation was in 2001. From Oct. 17-19, HLC representatives will be on campus to review the College's self study, gather evidence that it is thorough and accurate, and make a recommendation on Augustana’s accreditation status to the HLC, which takes the final action.
“With a room full of loud, impassioned Augustana Vikings, the Commission will have no choice but to extend our accreditation for another 10 years,” said Jake Bury, president of the Augustana Student Association. “Please mark your calendar for this important event and spread the word to students around campus. Your support would be greatly appreciated.”
The public is also invited to submit comments regarding Augustana's reaccreditation. Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of the institution or its academic programs. All comments must be in writing and signed; comments cannot be treated as confidential. Comments may also be filed electronically at www.ncahlc.org. Please mail written comments to: Public Comment on Augustana College, The Higher Learning Commission, 230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, Ill., 60604.
