As part of the college's Verdier celebration, the letters "AC" were "boldly proclaimed by the people of Augustana" on the college's campus green.
Verdier, from Norwegian to English, translates to "values; the moral principles and beliefs or accepted standards of a person or community," and Augustana chose that word to name a week-long event celebrating the five-core values that define the institution.
In a celebration of the core value community, the college chose to take the all-campus aerial photo today.
"It was definitely an illustration of community," Augustana Communications and Media Relations Director Kelly Sprecher said. "So many students were excited to be a part of it, and it definitely symbolized what Augustana stands for."
