While he calls the U.S. home, Associate Professor Dr. Patrick Hicks, Augustana's writer-in-residence, is also an Irish citizen who has traveled and studied extensively throughout Europe. Augustana University honored several faculty members with awards at the 2016 Commencement ceremony, held on Saturday, May 21, at the Sioux Falls Arena.
Surrounded by thousands of their biggest fans — family, friends and professors — 338 graduates participated in the ceremony, held at the Sioux Falls Arena. An additional 87 students graduated in absentia for a total class of 425 graduates.
For the past semester, students in Dr. Jaciel Keltgen’s “Health Care Marketing” class have tracked and analyzed Twitter usage by medical professionals to better understand how social media can link the public to health care professionals. The students presented their report, “Trending: #DocsOnTwitter,” today on campus.
