Students, Donors Connect at Scholarship Recognition Program

Sunday's scholarship recognition program paired Augustana donors with the students and families their gifts impact. The event was a chance for Russ and Carol Greenfield to meet senior Wadie Mahauad-Fernandez, the 2011-12 recipient of the Thomas Russell Greenfield Memorial Scholarship, an endowed scholarship the Greenfields established to honor the memory of their son.

Seven Inducted into German Honor Society

Seven Augustana students have been inducted into the Eta Delta chapter of Delta Phi Alpha, the German National Honor Society, for excellence and achievement in the German language, and in Germanic culture and literature.

Johnson, Maier Awarded Top Honors for Biology Research

Biology majors Christina Johnson and Taylor Maier were awarded top honors at the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) National Conference held earlier this month in Minneapolis, Minn.

Thompson's Work Published in National Magazine

Junior Hal Thompson's article, "Wall Street in Widescreen"  illustrates how cinema can help define the financial crisis of 2008. The piece was published in the Fall 2011 issue of Financial History, the magazine of the Museum of American Finance, along with an article by Dr. Robert Wright, Nef Family Chair of Political Economy.
