Six Inducted into French National Honor Society

Six Augustana students have been inducted into the College's Mu Alpha chapter of Pi Delta Phi, the National French Honor Society:

  • Art major Laura Bane, class of 2013, Rockwell City, Iowa
  • Psychology and French major Sydney Fleming, class of 2013, Rapid City, S.D.
  • Civitas Honors student, Art major and French minor Sabrina Johnson, class of 2013, Bellevue, Neb.
  • Biochemistry and French major Madeline Nykamp, class of 2014, Sioux Falls
  • History major and French minor Megan Soe, class of 2013, Fremont, Neb.
  • Government/International Affairs and Modern Foreign Languages major, and French minor Elle Onisciuc, class of 2015, Sioux Falls

Pi Delta Phi, established in 1906 at the University of California, Berkeley, currently has more than 360 chapters in the United States. The purpose of the Society is to recognize outstanding scholarship in the French language and Francophone literature, to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Americans for the cultural contributions of the French-speaking world, and to stimulate and to encourage French and Francophone cultural activities. The faculty advisor is Dr. Scott Fish.
