Student Runners Raise $750 for Special Olympics

Augustana student runners raised $750 for Special Olympics South Dakota through the second annual Langskip 5K, held on Saturday, Oct. 19, during Viking Days.

Student leaders from the Augustana Running Club and Augustana Student Association visited Special Olympics today to present their gift to Darryl Nordquist, president and CEO for Special Olympics South Dakota.

More than 270 students, community members, faculty and staff registered for the run, which circled campus and was organized by the Augustana Running Club. View photos from the 2013 Langskip 5K.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from student registrations were given to Special Olympics.

The next Langskip 5K is slated for Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014.
