College Welcomes New Faculty Members

With the 2013-14  academic year officially underway, Augustana has welcomed new, full-time faculty members in the departments of Mathematics, English, Modern Foreign Languages and Chemistry.

Travel Author Rick Steves to 'Discuss Travel as a Political Act'

Author, public television and radio host and producer Rick Steves will discuss “Travel as a Political Act,” at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Class of 2017 Arrives on Campus

Carrying rolls of carpet, futons and stacks of plastic tubs, members of Augustana's freshman class arrived on campus on Sunday to settle into their new rooms inside Bergsaker and Solberg Residence Halls. The academic year opens with Convocation on Sept. 4; classes begin Sept. 5.

Augustana Professor Receives National Science Foundation Grant

Assistant Professor Dr. Nathan Grau has been awarded a three-year, $149,312 physics grant from the National Science Foundation. The grant will support three students each summer from 2014-2016, including a month at Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York.

Concert by United States Marine Band Canceled

The concert by the United States Marine Band, "The President's Own," originally scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Washington Pavilion, has been canceled. The event, co-sponsored by Augustana, was scheduled as a part of this year's Viking Days festivities.

Maya Angelou to Appear on Campus

Dr. Maya Angelou, renowned poet and writer, will speak at Augustana at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Elmen Center. This will be the second time Angelou has appeared at the College. She previously spoke on campus in 2007. Purchase Tickets.
