Soldiers, Families to Reunite Today at Elmen Center

Welcome home to members of the South Dakota National Guard’s 196th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade! The unit, which includes about 200 area soldiers, returned to the U.S. last week after a year-long deployment in Afghanistan. Augustana Grads to Discuss Experiences in Japan Following Earthquake

Two Augustana graduates who are teaching English in Japan will discuss their experiences teaching abroad, the Japanese culture and what life is like following last month's catastrophic 8.9-magnitude earthquake at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 2, in the 3-in-1 room.

Riddle, Brooks Win Augie Pride Awards

Hurley Wins Covenant Award for Excellence

Senior Rachel Hurley, a biology and ACS chemistry double major, has received the Covenant Award for Excellence. During her time at Augustana, she has been involved with the Augustana Band and Wind Ensemble, NSO, Outreach Ministries, Pre-Med Club and the Biology Honor Society.

Textbook Rental Program Coming to Augustana Bookstore

Beginning in June, the Augustana College Bookstore will offer a new, multi-channel textbook rental program that will allow students to rent select textbooks for less than 50 percent of the cost of purchasing a new printed textbook.

Theatre Season Concludes with 'The Winter's Tale'

The Augustana Theatre and Music Departments will present "The Winter’s Tale,"  Shakespeare’s classic tale of jealousy, love, loss and reconciliation, May 4-8 at the Edith Mortenson Center Theatre. The play is directed by Jayna Fitzsimmons.

Autism Conference to Feature Author, Advocate Eustacia Cutler

Eustacia Cutler, award-winning author and mother of animal behavioral scientist and autism advocate Temple Grandin, will speak at “Lighting the Way,” an annual, two-day conference on autism spectrum disorders. The conference will be held at Gilbert Science Center June 9-10.

Six Augustana students who exemplify scholarship and campus/community service have been awarded Fred C. and J. Marie Christopherson Scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year.

In The News: 'Augustana Celebrates 150 Years'

On Saturday, alumni, students, faculty and staff and community members honored 15 decades of history at The Spark, the gala event to celebrate Augustana at 150. The event featured historic photo galleries, an awards ceremony, the premiere of 'Skol! Augustana at 150,' a documentary film, live music and dancing.
