Graduating Tracksters Honored Ahead of NCAA National Tourney

Four graduating seniors will be missing from Augustana's Commencement on Saturday as they compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Allendale, Michigan, later this week.

To honor them, Augustana held a special Commencement on Sunday, May 18, in the Elmen Center.

Dressed in their full Commencement regalia, senior VP for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College Dr. Susan Hasseler spoke and President Rob Oliver and Dr. Jim Bies, Dean of students, presented diplomas to the following graduating seniors:

  • Kyle Linn Blakeslee, a sign language interpreting major from Cannon Falls, Minnesota
  • Colleen Nicole Everson (Magna Cum Laude), an elementary education major from Slayton, Minnesota
  • Henrik Mattias Hansson, a communication studies major from Sweden
  • Aduo Omot, an exercise science major from Worthington, Minnesota

"Thank you for all your contributions as students, and as student-athletes," said Oliver. "Thank you for your willingness to compete on behalf of Augustana."
