2017 Covenant Award Nominees Recognized

2017 Covenant Award nominees

Many of the 2017 Covenant Award nominees were present in Chapel on Monday for the official start of Verdier 2017.

Forty-five students were recognized in Chapel of Reconciliation earlier today as nominees for the 2017 Augustana Covenant Awards.

These awards honor students who exemplify the University's five core values: Christian, Liberal Arts, Excellence, Community and Service. Covenant Award recipients will be celebrated at a special ceremony at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 7, in Kresge Recital Hall, as part of Verdier 2017, a week-long celebration of Augustana’s guiding values and ethics this week, April 3-8.

From Norwegian to English, "verdier" translates to "values; the moral principles and beliefs or accepted standards of a person or community."
