The latest issue of Prairie Business magazine features Augustana's new Froiland Science Complex.
"This is a project that had been considered for a number of years for the primary goals of increasing capacity and modernizing the facility for natural science,” says Rob Oliver, president of Augustana. “It had been dreamt about for a decade, and we had a number of different design solutions. This project is a result of all those dreams."
Augustana University honored several faculty members with awards at the 2016 Commencement ceremony, held on Saturday, May 21, at the Sioux Falls Arena.
Surrounded by thousands of their biggest fans — family, friends and professors — 338 graduates participated in the ceremony, held at the Sioux Falls Arena. An additional 87 students graduated in absentia for a total class of 425 graduates.
For the past semester, students in Dr. Jaciel Keltgen’s “Health Care Marketing” class have tracked and analyzed Twitter usage by medical professionals to better understand how social media can link the public to health care professionals. The students presented their report, “Trending: #DocsOnTwitter,” today on campus.
A photo taken by junior Kevin Dolge (Brandon, South Dakota) won the April "Chemistry in Pictures" photo contest hosted by Chemical and Engineering News, a weekly periodical published by the American Chemical Society.

Augustana senior Sarah Kocher, a native of Lincoln, Nebraska, will serve as the senior speaker for the 2016 commencement exercises, set for Saturday, May 21, at the Sioux Falls Arena. Kocher will deliver her address, “Search On,” before 338 graduates who will participate in the commencement ceremony. An additional 87 students will graduate in absentia.
