Free Bus Rides to Continue for Spring Semester

The collaboration with the City of Sioux Falls and Sioux Area Metro (SAM) that allows Augustana students to ride city buses for free will continue for the spring semester. 1047 rides were taken by students, faculty and staff using SAM through this program during the fall semester, exceeding the original goal of 1000 people during the trial run.

By joining forces for this pilot program, both parties hope to increase bus ridership among the student body and, more generally, to increase the use of public transportation throughout the city. This cost-free mode of transportation is an environmentally friendly way to travel around Sioux Falls.

The pilot program that runs through Friday, Dec. 19, has now been renewed through second semester with availability for all Augustana students, faculty and staff who present their school ID each time they ride the bus.
