Four Students Selected for Sophomore Honors

SIOUX FALLS - Four Augustana students with outstanding academic achievement have been selected to receive Sophomore Honors.

They are Sam Eisele from Sioux Falls; Kayla Graber from Hurley, S.D.; Kristie McDermott from Le Mars, Iowa; and Matthew Moldan from Lamberton, Minn.

The students will be recognized during the opening convocation for the 2008-2009 academic year on Wednesday, September 3, at 10:00 a.m. in the Elmen Center.

Sophomore Honors recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement at an early stage of their college career. These honors are conferred on four representatives of the preceding sophomore class who have been selected by the faculty on the basis of scholarship, character, personal traits, and other evidences of achievement.

Eisele is majoring in Spanish. He is the son of Katherine and Jeffrey Eisele.

Graber is majoring in biology. Her parents are Linda and Calvin Graber.

McDermott carries a double major – nursing and Spanish. She is the daughter of Kathy and John McDermott.

Moldan is pursuing a double major, biology and chemistry. He is the son of Cindy and David Moldan.
