CONSTITUTION OF THE AUGUSTANA UNION BOARD OF GOVERNORS

ARTICLE I: NAME

Section I This organization shall be known as the Augustana Union Board of Governors (UBG).

Section II The term “Union Board of Governors” shall be defined as an organization made up of the following boards: Administrative Assistant, Annual Events, Community Service, Entertainments, Film, Finance, Fine Arts, Personnel, Promotions/Publicity, and Recreation.

ARTICLE II: PURPOSE

Section I It shall be the purpose of this organization to provide an organized, efficient, and effective program of social, cultural, and developmental activities for the Augustana student body.

Section II It shall be the purpose of this organization to select board members who plan, execute, record, and evaluate in the best possible manner the program of the Union Board of Governors.

Section III The Union Board of Governors programs shall not be limited to any specific building or facility.

ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP

Section I Membership of the Union Board of Governors shall be led by the Head Governor.
A. Qualifications shall be the same as those for the president of ASA>
B. The Head Governor will be selected through an interview process by ASA.
C. The Head Governor shall perform his/her functions in accordance with the UBG by-laws.

Section II Membership of the Union Board of Governors shall include the Governors of the individual boards.
A. Qualifications
a. Have and maintain a 2.25 GPA
b. Shall not graduate before term expires.
B. Governors shall perform their functions in accordance with the UBG by-laws

Section III The Director of Student Activities shall serve in an advisory position for the Union Board of Governors.

ARTICLE IV: CREATION OR ELIMINATION OF BOARDS

Section I Board may be added or discontinued only with the two-thirds approval of the UBG and with the two-thirds approval of the ASA student senate.

ARTICLE V: DISMISSALS AND RESIGNATIONS

Section I All resignations for requests for leave of absence must be submitted to the BUG Head Governor for approval. With advice from the UBG, the Head Governor shall appoint an acting Governor or make appropriate arrangements for the vacant position.

Section II The Head Governor, with advice from the BUG, shall make any dismissals that are necessary. The position shall be filled as in the case of a resignation roe lave of absence.

ARTICLE IV: AMENDMENTS

Section I All Amendments to this constitution must be approved by a two-thirds vote of the UBG and with a two-thirds approval of the ASA student senate.
