Honor Guard Reunion
Members of the Augustana Honor Guard include all Augustana alumni who have celebrated their 50th class reunion event. This year, that includes all alumni who graduated in 1962 and earlier.
Recommended Honor Guard Reunion Activities
Honor Guard alumni have several opportunities to gather and reminisce about their days at Augustana. Here is a suggested schedule of activities for our Honor Guard alumni. (Click here for the full Viking Days schedule)
Friday, Oct. 18
Registration is closed for Viking Days 2013.
Honor Guard Coffee Reception: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Siverson Lounge, Morrison Commons. Honor Guard alumni are invited to begin the weekend with coffee and conversation with classmates.
Chapel: 10 a.m., Chapel of Reconciliation, Rev. Dr. Paul Rohde, Campus Pastor, will deliver the message; featuring the Augustana Choir.
Campus Tours: Morning tours begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Commons Concourse, Morrison Commons. Meet us at the Viking Days information table in the Commons for a group tour with a current Augustana student.
Honor Guard Luncheon: 11:30 a.m., Gallery, Center for Western Studies. Dr. Lindsay Twa from the Art department will share a director’s talk on Carl Grupp’s exhibit: "Why Are We?: A Carl Grupp Retrospective", showing in the Center for Western Studies Gallery during Viking Days. Honor Guard alumni are graduates from 1962 and earlier.

Nostalgic Nickels Talent Show: 2 p.m., Back Alley, Morrison Commons. A reunion talent show featuring members of the class of 1958, who are celebrating their 55th class reunion.
Blue and Gold Gala: 6 p.m. Social Hour, 6:30 p.m. Dinner, Falls Room, Holiday Inn City Centre. Recognizing the Alumni Achievement Award recipients and featuring Dr. Jennifer Gubbels, Biology department, speaking on her “Call to Research.” Special music by The Hegg Brothers Band. Registration is required.
Viking Days Kickoff Party: 9 p.m., Falls Room, Holiday Inn City Centre. Just coming in to town? Meet your classmates here for snacks, drinks and music! Music by The Hegg Brothers, featuring Jeremy Hegg '94 and Jon Hegg '99.
Saturday, Oct. 19
Viking Days Pancake Feed: 9:30 a.m. Commons Drive and Grange Avenue. Come to the parade ready to eat pancakes and see faculty members (our guest pancake flippers!) from the Performing and Visual Arts department. This is a fundraiser to benefit the PVA.
Homecoming Parade: 10:30 a.m., 28th to 33rd Street on Grange Avenue.
Viking Days Tailgate: 11:30 a.m. outside Kirkeby-Over Stadium. Bring your family for lunch and games for the kids before the Vikings kickoff.
Viking Days Football Game vs. Upper Iowa: 1 p.m., Kirkeby-Over Stadium
All-Class Reunion: 5:30 p.m., Washington Pavilion. Honor Guard alumni are invited to catch up with friends from their years at Augie and celebrate with reunion classes ending in 3 and 8. Honor Guard alumni will meet in the Belbas Theatre area of the Washington Pavilion for food, drinks and conversation before taking in the 60th anniversary show of Viking Varieties! Registration is required.
Viking Varieties: 8 p.m., Mary Sommervold Hall, Washington Pavilion. Viking Varieties will celebrate the 60th anniversary of its first show with a one-night-only performance featuring talent from across campus and our largest cast ever. Don't miss it!
The Augustana Afterglow: 9:30 p.m., Washington Pavilion Lobbies. The party continues following Varieties at the Afterglow! Enjoy desserts and coffee on all levels of the Washington Pavilion.
Sunday, Oct. 20
Viking Days Worship: 10:30 a.m., Elmen Center. Bishop of the Greater Milwaukee Synod Rev. Jeff Barrow '73 will preach. Dancers, led by Jackie Pederson-Kriens '89, will share liturgical dance and the The Augustana Orchestra and The Augustana Choir will provide music.
Viking Days Brunch: 11:30 a.m., Ordal Dining Room, Morrison Commons.
