Viking Varieties, the only all-Augustana variety show, is one of Augie's oldest and most beloved traditions. Starting in the early 1940s, Augustana began performing intermittent variety shows featuring faculty, alumni and students, which were organized and led by faculty members. In October 1953, Viking Varieties officially debuted as the homecoming talent showcase -- and has been running every year since. The show has evolved from a single talent showcase, to the inclusion of a touring production, to a weekend of dazzling performances. With fresh faces, new talent, and unique ideas each year, the show keeps getting better and better!
During Viking Days 2013, as part of the all-class reunion event, Viking Varieties will celebrate the 60th anniversary of its first show with a one-night-only performance featuring talent from across campus and our largest cast ever. We invite you to join us as Augustana College and the Department of Performing and Visual Arts proudly present:
Saturday, October 19
(House will open at 7:30 p.m. for seating.)
