Honor Society

Augustana's Rydell School of Business was granted membership into the Eta Kappa chapter of Sigma Iota Epsilon (SIE) in 2024. As an honorary and professional fraternity, SIE's mission is to stimulate interest and achievement in the field of management by encouraging and recognizing scholastic excellence and promoting cooperation between the academic and practical aspects of management. SIE seeks to acknowledge individuals and organizations which impact the field of management while highlighting the value of scholastic achievement in the field.

Meet the Dean

Dr. Roxanne Stevens is the dean of the Rydell School of Business. Stevens, originally from Maryland, has served as an undergraduate and graduate faculty member, program chair and, most recently, interim dean at Azusa Pacific University in California. She earned an undergraduate degree from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, as well as a B.S. in business administration and B.A. in business management from the University of Phoenix in Arizona. Stevens also holds an MBA from Azusa Pacific University and DBA from Alliant International University in California.

Azam Shaik ‘25 is a data science, quantitative economics and finance triple major from Hyderabad, India. At Augustana, he is a Viking Advisor (VA), Augustana Cultural Exchange (ACE) Ambassador, Beacom Research Fellow, tutor and involved with the Viking Distance Project and intramurals. This summer, Shaik completed a remote internship with CORE Molding Technologies, a plastics engineering solutions company.

This year’s Viking Days festivities included a special dedication ceremony for Augustana’s School of Business — now the Rydell School of Business, supported by Bill and Ellen Rydell. The Augustana community celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 3, with a gathering in the Madsen Social Science Center, home of the newly-named school.

Kadin Groen ‘26, of Sioux Falls, is double majoring in finance and fintech — part of the Augustana University Fintech Program by Pathward™. This summer, Groen interned with The Bancorp in Sioux Falls. Because of Groen’s successful internship, he was offered a role at The Bancorp as a product development analyst.
