Title: Augie Access Program Director

Augustana University invites applications for a full-time Augie Access Program Director. This position is year-round and has a schedule of Monday through Friday with occasional weekends and evenings for events. Some off-campus meetings are required.
This position provides leadership for the Augie Access Program, a postsecondary transition program for young adults with disabilities. This includes directing activities related to program operations and communicating with multiple internal and external constituents to assure effective and efficient program operations.
The duties, competencies, and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for marketing and recruiting as well as maintaining and update the website.
- Manage the admissions process and perform advising duties (including developing Plans of Study, Person Centered Plans).
- Schedule classes and plan staffing to meet demand.
- Teach Augie Access courses, as assigned develop and revise curriculum and programs of study.
- Support students in academic, social, and independent living areas.
- Collaborate with local school districts on IEP goal creation, implementation, documentation; assist with multidisciplinary team evaluations when appropriate; maintain quarterly contact with school districts.
- Work with the Employment/Internship Coordinator to develop internship placements, long-term employment goals, and make provisions for employment support, as necessary.
- Manage program assessment and program evaluation processes (data collection, data analysis, and creation of the annual Assessment report).
- Maintain student records.
- Manage student progress assessment (SAP) each midterm and semester.
- Lead the Augie Access Executive Committee and the Augie Access Advisory Committee.
- Lead and manage efforts to maintain approved (Comprehensive Transition Program) status with the US Department of Education
- Lead and manage effort to obtain Accreditation from the National Coordinating Center (Think College) once standards are adopted.
- Supervise of Augie Access Assistant Program Coordinator and collaborate with the Dean of Education to oversee the responsibilities of the Employment and Internship Coordinator.
- Facilitate collaboration between the program and partners in the community, such as the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Department of Labor, Independent Living Choices, and local educational agencies.
- Seek external funding for the program, including grants.
- Present at local, regional, and national conferences about the Augie Access program.
Qualifications for this position:
- Master’s Degree and at least 3 years of successful K-12 experience in special education are preferred.
- Experience with secondary transition programs is required.
- Both grant writing and management skills as well as experience with program development and accreditation are preferred.
- Experience with adult service agencies and services provided to adults with disabilities in the local area is a plus.
