The Augustana University Art Department supports a community of artists who are passionate about their work and eager to help others develop. Expert faculty work alongside students in state-of-the-art facilities across disciplines of art history, ceramics, drawing, graphic design, painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture. This department works within the guidelines of the National Visual Arts Standards and National Association of Schools of Art & Design.

The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at Augustana opens “The Augustana Faculty Biennial,” showcasing recent works by university art instructors and faculty, as well as faculty emeriti. The exhibit will be on view through Thursday, Nov. 7, and a gallery reception will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, with artist talks at 7:30 p.m. 

The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at Augustana University opens “Worlds Coming Together: Revelations Over Time,” which will be on view from Sept. 12 through Oct. 5. A homecoming gallery reception will be on Friday, Oct. 4, from 7-9 p.m., with a talk by artist Brad Widness at 7:30 p.m.

The university is proud to announce that the Augustana Art Department has presented its highest award — the Harold Spitznagel Medal for Achievement in Art — to Augustana student Gracie Korstjens ‘24 and Augustana faculty member John Henry Peters ‘76. The two were awarded the prestigious medal during the opening reception of the Augustana Senior Show at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery on Friday, April 26.
