Biography 

Dr. Heather El-Khoury joined Augustana University in 2023 as the inaugural field director of the Harriet Emily Scott Social Work Program. In 2024, she moved to the MSW Field Director position in the Harriet Emily Scott Social Work Program. She came to Augustana after nine years at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan, where she was the coordinator of rield and student support for their off- campus site, as well as 15 years at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan, as the field education director of the social work program.

 

El-Khoury’s dissertation was on, “Caring for Students as They Care for Others: The Social Work Student Getting the Support Needed for Success.” Her passion is supporting her students journey during their field practicum experience. She spent many years running poverty simulations for her students, the community and leadership programs. Her passion is also for youth, ending homelessness and food insecurity. In her free time, she loves to volunteer in the community, spend time with friends and family, and cooking big tasty meals.
